How to choose the right lifting column according to the project scenario?
Dec 04, 2024| Lifting bollards, also known as lifting anti-collision bollards, are mainly used to control the passage of motor vehicles and play a high-level anti-terrorism and anti-riot role. Lifting bollards are divided into fully automatic lifting bollards, semi-automatic lifting bollards, manual lifting bollards, and fixed bollards due to different driving modes.

1. In some places with a certain amount of traffic and where the lifting bollards need to be lifted and lowered frequently, it is more appropriate to use fully automatic lifting bollards. As long as they are operated by remote control, they can be lifted and lowered. At the same time, they can be linked with the license plate recognition system to automatically recognize the license plate and achieve automatic lifting and lowering. Even the corresponding modules can be installed to achieve remote control; and because the material used for the lifting bollards is relatively strong, it can effectively intercept motor vehicles from deliberately rushing in.
2. Semi-automatic lifting bollards are suitable for environments where they do not take off and land frequently, because their driving mode is manual lowering and automatic raising. Semi-automatic lifting bollards are more suitable for closed intersections that are usually closed and will only be opened when encountering firefighting or leadership inspections, or for some places where flexible control of the opening/closing of intersections is required but power cannot be provided.
3. Manual lifting bollards are manually lifted and raised and manually lowered. This driving method determines the use place of manual lifting bollard. When frequent lifting is not required and economic cost is considered, the cost performance of manual lifting bollard is highlighted.

In addition, when purchasing anti-collision bollard, you must pay attention to the internal power system. Many manufacturers on the market are selling dog meat under the guise of sheep, and they say that their products are extremely high-end, but in fact, many aspects are not mature enough. Anti-collision bollard generally adopts electromechanical drive system, hydraulic drive system, and pneumatic drive system. The three have their own advantages and disadvantages. The electromechanical lifting bollard system is stable and cheap, but the failure rate is relatively high, and there is also the risk of electric shock; while the hydraulic lifting bollard is relatively stable and widely used in the market. Pneumatic lifting bollard is as stable as the hydraulic system, but many manufacturers do not have relevant production qualifications due to technical problems.

When purchasing lifting bollard, you should also pay attention to the following issues:
1. The width of the channel: The width of the channel to be managed determines the number of devices required. Under normal circumstances, the center distance of the bollard can be kept within 1.5 meters. Different places of use can control the spacing width according to their actual needs.
2. Traffic flow: This number is one of the most important parameters for selecting products, but users often ignore this parameter. First, understand the total annual/monthly traffic volume and average daily traffic volume of the installation site.
3. Frequency of use: The short-term traffic volume during peak hours of the site should be understood.
4. Lifting speed: This parameter is often of concern.
5. Security level of the site: Although all lifting bollards have the function of blocking vehicles, there is a world of difference between civilian products and professional-level anti-terrorism products in blocking vehicles.
6. Group management: Whether the lane entry and exit need to be separated, or whether the lanes need to be managed in groups, determines the configuration and selection of the entire control system.
